The inspiration started with John P. Kee’s “I Do Worship”, one of my all-time favorite worship songs. The lyrics are simple, yet powerful.
I’ve been wanting to do something with it for a while, and when I saw the wordmark for the new Black Panther movie, “Wakanda Forever”, it all just came together.
I was already familiar with the typeface from a previous riff based on the first movie’s wordmark that paid tribute to black parenthood, so it wasn’t that difficult to recreate “Wakanda” as “Worship”.
