The scene in Marvel’s Black Panther (2018) where T’Challa reunites with his father spoke volumes to me. Fatherhood, parenthood, manhood, so many relationships are being addressed by these two, and it struck me that even The Black Panther needed his father.
With everything going on in the world, it just reminded me of just how important parenthood is.
The hands that rock the cradle may not actually rule the world, but they determine how the world will be ruled by the next generation.
As I watched this scene again recently, I thought to myself that, “Dang, my superhero needed his superhero.”
When he needed direction and guidance, T’Challa needed T’Chaka.
The Black Panther needed his Black Parent.
